We are so grateful that you are interested in applying for our team! Shade Seekers focuses on mitigating the urban heat island effect by strategically planting trees and vegetation in urban areas. Our goal is to reduce reliance on air conditioning by creating natural shade and cooling through community-driven initiatives. We organize tree planting workshops and promote rooftop gardens to increase green spaces that absorb less heat and release water vapor through transpiration. Our innovative app and website will track and map all planting efforts, creating an Urban Forest Master Plan for Dallas County to optimize shade coverage and minimize heat retention. Through partnerships with businesses and nonprofits, we aim to educate and empower communities while advocating for sustainable urban development and environmental action.
